A blend of merlot, syrah, cabernet sauvignon, barbera, sangiovese, cabernet franc, petit verdot and malbec, this comes predominantly from Alder Ridge, a windswept vineyard in the Horse Heaven Hills along the Columbia River. The dusty scents of dry barbecue rubs and five-spice powder evoke the dry heat of the place, but the flavors are saucy with mellow, red cherry fruit edged in smoky tannin. For grilled dry-aged beef.
